Short History
After graduating from EKU in 1975 with one of the first degrees awarded in Environmental Health, I began a career in the profession as an Environmentalist II at a local rural health department in the state and later worked at a larger urban health department all totaling 13 years. My duties included all facets of environmental health that we teach in our current program, however my specialty areas were and remain to be:

Food Hygiene, Food Safety Training, HACCP, Epidemiology, Water Quality, Water Treatment, Water Testing, Wastewater Technology, and Environmental Law and Planning. I have been teaching full time at EKU since 1988 and taught part-time prior to that for eight years.

EHS 280, 290, 300, 340, 370, 380, 425, 440, and 463

Primary Research Interests:
Water Pollution in Regional Streams and Tributaries, Foodborne Illness, On-site Wastewater Alternatives, Chemical Weapons Disposal in Madison County and other sites nationally.

Consulting: Water Testing, HACCP, Expert Witness in Foodborne Illness Cases, On-site Wastewater System Design

Personal Interests:

Playing baseball and basketball with my son, playing guitar and song writing, automobile fanatic, reading fiction and listening to music. (Loved the Beatles and anything Motown from the 60s)

My favorite music, that I still listen to today is mainly from the 70s and 80s : Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Babys, Steely Dan, Robin Trower, Rush, AC-DC, Foreigner, Prince, Boston, Bonnie Raitt.
