Helpful Information for Undergraduate Students |
| TRANSFER COURSE EQUIVALENCIES from
other institutions
PLEASE REFER TO THE BELOW LINK
https://ky.transfer.org:8444/cas/index.jsp
IMPORTANT
TO KNOW: If a course is taken at EKU and
it is failed that course will need to be repeated and passed at EKU to fill the requirement.
Credit can not be given for passing a course elsewhere if it was failed at EKU first.
The EKU grade will ALWAYS override the other course grade.
|
EXCEPTIONS
If a requirement has been met with another course and credit
has not been given for it please speak to your advisor so an exception
form can be submitted for the proper credit.
Example of standard exceptions:
BSL110 is accepted for BIO171
BSL111 is accepted for BIO301
CLT209/211 is accepted for BIO273
Please be aware that when a course is rearticulated in the Banner
System the exception may bump out and need to be reentered.
If this
happens
please notify your advisor who will notify the Dean's office.

UNIVERSITY
WRITING REQUIREMENT (UWR)
Please
complete the UWR as soon as you reach 60 semester hours or shortly
there after.
The
Dean's office makes it very clear at the time a UWR hold is removed
that if it is not taken and passed by the time
all other requirements are met for graduation – IT
WILL STOP YOU FROM GRADUATING!
THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS, THIS IS A UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENT
|
ORIENTATION

Students
do not have to take an orientation course if they have completed
over 30 hrs. Advisors can complete an exception form and waive
this course.
|

a course for a third or subsequent time without approval,
the student
will be administratively withdrawn
from the course. Please make sure you get approval from your advisor
and a Third or subsequent repeat course form is filled out and

GENERAL EDUCATION
CERTIFIED
The differences between Associate of Science and Associate of Applied
Science Degrees.
Associate
of Science from a Kentucky Community College IS General
Education Certified because of the amount of General Education hours
required for that degree.
Associate
of Science from Eastern IS NOT General
Education Certified because they their Associate programs require
fewer General Education hours and do not meet the amount of hours
needed to be General Education Certified.
Associate
of Applied Science from the Community College IS
NOT General Education Certified. (The reason for this
is all Applied Science degrees do not require as many General
Education hours so therefore they can not be General Education
Certified.)
|
CORE CERTIFIED - means only that the one area or block of general education
is certified.
|
RESTRICTED
ELECTIVES -
They NO longer exist so
if you see any on a CARES report just e-mail Julie
Brewer in the Dean's Office with the information
(name, ID) and it will be corrected.
